Call for Papers


The ISTE has been closely monitoring the global COVID-19 situation. With uncertainty around government restrictions and regulations still high we have made the decision to run TE2021 as a virtual event.  Rest assured that conference proceedings will still be published with IOSpress in OPEN ACCESS BOOK and fully indexed by Thomson Reuters/SCI, Scopus, Compendex/Ei and others.  



If the events of 2020 have taught us anything it is that changes within a system will cause disruptions and that these disruptions can have a major impact on society.  But it is not only abrupt events such as global pandemics or natural disasters which can cause disturbance.  Digitalisation, which has been playing out over a number of years, has the potential to radically change engineering research and practice: how it is conducted, the skills required, and the solutions produced. The theme of the 28th Transdisciplinary Engineering Conference is the application of Transdisciplinary Engineering for resilience and responding to system disruptions.  


The TE conference series welcomes papers on topics that address transdisciplinary engineering topics. Important for characterising papers as transdisciplinary engineering is that they:

  1. Address a real-world problem.

  2. Include collaborations between different disciplines which is not limited to purely technical ones.

  3. Integrate knowledge from across disciplines and stakeholders.
